Miriam Berg

Miriam Berg, MA, is lecturer in the journalism program at Northwestern University in Qatar. Berg has worked as a news director at Al Jazeera English where she was in the director’s chair for much of the Beijing Olympics, the 2008 US presidential election and the 2008-2009 war in Gaza. Prior to that she worked in London at Bloomberg News producing and directing business news for their six international channels. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and audio visual production at London Guildhall University and a master’s degree in communication management at London Metropolitan University. Berg is also currently undertaking a PhD at London Westminster University's School of Media, Art and Design. Her research focuses on the growing influence of Turkish media in the Arab world. At NU-Q, she teaches television production and presentation and serves as the faculty adviser for student television.
