Durriya Niaz

In her role as manager of accounting and financial reporting, Niaz is responsible for the design and implementation of the University's financial systems, month-end closings, all account reconciliations, all external and internal financial reporting and the coordination and execution of the campus' external independent audit. She holds a key stake in the establishment and maintenance of the campus' general ledger and account code structure, development of operational accounting process improvements and other qualitative recommendations for departments/operations based on analyses of transactions and trends. She also provides support for the annual budget process and forecasting.
 
Niaz worked in one of the Big 4 financial firms in Chicago and Doha before joining NU-Q in 2010. She has held positions in both tax and consulting arenas. Her undergraduate degree is in accounting and finance from DePaul University in Chicago where she graduated summa cum laude. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and licensed in the state of Illinois. Currently she is pursuing her MBA at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
