2011 Arab Media Symposium

From Media Revolution to Street Revolution: Twenty Years of Arab Commercial Satellite Television provided a forum for the public discussion of the state of Arab media practice and scholarship both regionally and globally. The symposium examined the past 20 years of commercial satellite broadcasting, and looked forward into the future of Arab media and media professions in the region.
On April 9, 2011, invited guest participants, both academics and professionals, participated in four sessions dedicated to teaching and researching Arab Media. They offered their remarks, shared their experiences, and addressed some of the pertinent questions facing Arab Media today.
On April 10, 2011, speakers discussed the Arab Media revolution that occurred during the 1990s and its impact on the current street revolutions in various Arab countries.
