Residence Permit (RP)

The State of Qatar requires foreign students who are studying and living in Qatar to obtain a residence permit. The following items are required in order for our office to process the permit. Please scan and email copies of the requested documents before sending them in the mail. 

• Visa application form
• Color copy of your passport photo page
• Eight passport-size photos (non-white background)
• Document that states your blood type. This can either be a document from a hospital or clinic, or a copy of your government ID card if it states your blood type on it.

Exit Permit

As an international student, you must apply for an exit permit. In order to travel, the student must complete the Permit Form. Please note that in order to complete this form, it must also be signed by NU-Q’s Business & Finance Office (Quinton Sprull at Sprull@northwestern.edu) and by the QF Finance Office (Cabin 4).

Once completed, please sign and submit to Kristal.Sawatzke@northwestern.edu and copy Marie Newkirk at m-newkirk@northwestern.edu.

Please submit the form 7-10 days before travel. If submitted later than this, NU-Q cannot guarantee that the student will receive an exit permit before departure.

The permit is valid for 6 days.
